It's funny. I used to say, "I don't take people photos," but life had other plans for me, and let's be honest, we're all a bit valiant and cynical at 13. I got my first camera as a present for surviving high school (so brave of me) and it's been a journey ever since. By the time I was 15, I found myself diving headfirst into the world of portrait photography – couples, engagements, formals, weddings, you name it and I was trying my hand at it. So much so my poor mum was driving my learner licence self around the countryside to be people's camera woman. I'm not able to call myself an elder photographer yet, but with 12 years behind me with cameras, I have grown to love my trade deeply (despite the hair loss it puts me through) 

 

Every day behind the lens is an adventure for me. Whether I'm capturing genuine laughter between a couple or transforming someone into a fantastical character, each session is a new and unique experience. But it's more than just clicking a button for me. I strive to cultivate a special connection with each person I photograph, creating an inclusive space at MiniBou where everyone can celebrate their true selves and not be afraid to do something different, unusual or usual but in their own way.

 

I'm all about honesty and authenticity. That's why I've adopted a "no-hide-policy," ensuring that every individual I photograph is portrayed just as they are. No matter the shoot I'm on, my goal is to capture moments that reflect the true essence of my subjects.

 

I remember an elderly client once told me that flaws won't matter in photos decades from now – only the memories will because we can't repeat time passed. And you know what? I couldn't agree more. That's why my approach is all about fun, imagination, and uniqueness. If that sounds like your vibe, then I'm your girl!
